and a Happy New Year!

A wish for you!

This is what happens when Clever Karen spends the morning at Pinterest, finding Chalkboard Pins and downloading new fonts!

I made this little greeting using a free chalkboard background download from Foolish Fire.  I pulled it into PrintShop2 as a background and added text with fancy fonts and dingbats in white.  Pretty easy to do!

You are welcome to download and use the image for your own personal use and share the link on Pinterest!

Belgium iPhoto Book

One of my last projects of the summer was finishing up the digital scrapbooking pages about Belgium and getting an iPhoto book printed with the pages. Ah, you may ask, wasn't your trip to Belgium 2 years ago??????? Blush, yes it was. I've decided that digital scrapbooking takes too much time for a busy teacher. I think from now on I will just do photo books for trips and maybe scrapbook just a few pages.

I am very happy with how the book turned out. IPhoto is not a cheap option, especially when you make lots of pages, but the end result is beautiful!

FYI - I scrapbooked the pages in Print Shop, saved them as jpegs, and the imported the jpegs into iPhoto to create the book.

Grand Place - Brussels

I'm still working on those scrapbook pages from Belgium! I've been able to get some more done while watching the Olympics. I finished these pages last night about the Grand Place in downtown Brussels.

Cafe Dining - Bruges

I'm almost through scrapping my Bruges pages. Yes, I know, these pictures are almost a year old! Anyway, here's some pictures of a lovely meal that we had on the last night in Bruges.

More Bits of Bruges

There's something wonderful about Sunday evening when you don't have to think about getting up the next morning for work. Here's a few digital pages that I was able to put together last night:

Scrapbooking in Sepia

The past few days have been busy and stressful with piles of things that must be done before the end of the school year. Mostly things that I have to do at school. So I'm watching the Red Wings game at home tonight and doing a little digital scrapbooking to unwind. Now is that a strange mix or what!!??

Here are a couple of pages that I've been working on, playing with changing the photos into a sepia color. Hopefully when school is done I will be able to finish these Bruges and Brussels pages, but probably not before my next trip! Oh well. (And go Red Wings!)

More Bruges Pages

I saw that Apple is having another discount on their iPhoto books through mid - May, so I am determined to get back on track with making these pages so I can get another book published. Here are a few more pages about our boat cruise on the canals of Bruges.

Bruges Scrapbook Pages 2

Busy week back at school (report cards and more) so not much time for blogging or anything else clever. However, here are a few more of the scrapbook pages I have been working on:

Bruges Scrapbook Pages 1

Ok, I am starting on a new iPhoto book about our Europe trip. This one will be pictures from Belgium. My goal is to try to do a page every day. I'm off to a good start. Here are a few of the pages - more to come:

IPhoto Book

This week my iPhoto book came in the mail. It includes the 50 digital scrapbooking pages that I made about our trip to the Netherlands this summer. The quality of these books is beautiful - hardcover with a dust jacket, quality paper, and great color.

The pages were constructed in Print Shop, exported as jpegs, and imported into iPhoto. Then I simply dragged the jpegs onto the book pages. Once all the pages were filled, a simple click sends the book to be published. Apple has a discount going on right now for iPhoto books which reduced the price, but it still was expensive! However - if I took the price of film, developing, and scrapbooking supplies, or the cost of the ink to print these pages - well, then the price doesn't seem so high.

Now I'm starting pages for Belgium - stay tuned!

Tiptoe through the Tulips

I finally had some time to work on the scrapbook pages about the Netherlands that I started creating at the end of the summer. I want to get them printed in an iPhoto book. I'm nearing the end of the batch. Here are a few that I worked on today. On a cold snowy day like today it's nice to remember the flower markets of Amsterdam!
