Monday morning we left Vegas for the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. It was about a 5 hour drive. The beginning was hot dry brown dusty desert, but as we got closer to Arizona we passed through a series of interesting cliffs which actually make up some of the layers in the Grand Canyon.
The final part of the journey takes you for about 40 miles through a area of forests and meadows (and some forest fire damage).
And then, you come to the the Lodge, walk through the doors, and there through the sunroom windows ahead of you - TADA - is the canyon! It is quite a spectacular way to unveil the view!
